Senior Vice President, Global Sales

Simon Beale was named Senior Vice President, Global Sales in January 2006. Beale is responsible for global revenue streams of all published and distributed electronic, print and microform products to academic, schools, public, government and corporate libraries and for sub-licensing agreements. Beale's leadership and industry knowledge have been instrumental in bringing ProQuest’s increasingly diversified portfolio of products and services to the global marketplace. As the complexion of our customer base has evolved, so has our strategy in fulfilling their changing needs.

Beale joined ProQuest in June 2002 as Vice President of International Sales and Marketing. In 2004 he was also given responsibility for driving international business development initiatives. Under Beale’s direction, in mid 2007 ProQuest I&L and CSA sales organizations merged to form the ProQuest Global Sales group.

Prior to ProQuest, Beale was Executive Director of Sales at Elsevier Health Sciences, EMEA division, Director of Sales at Harcourt Publishers Europe, Director of Sales at Prentice Hall Europe, and International Sales and Marketing Manager at Pitman/FT Publishing, Pearson. He has also held various sales and marketing positions with Addison Wesley and Simon and Schuster.

Beale holds a bachelor's degree from Loughborough University, UK, has studied extensively in the United States, and is an active member of the UK Publishers Association. He and his family live in the Ann Arbor, MI area.
