Question
Through which web browsers is Factiva.com supported?
Answer

Factiva.com is optimized for use with the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 5.5 (Service Pack 2) and above on Windows 95
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 (Service Pack 1) and above on Windows 98, NT, 2000, or XP
  • Internet Explorer 5.1.7 and above on Macintosh OS 9.1 and above (English interface only)*
  • Internet Explorer 5.2.3 and above on Macintosh OS X and above (English interface only)*
See below for information about support for standards-based browsers.

Please note: Factiva.com  will no longer be supported by IE 5.0.1 in Windows beginning on June 27, 2005:

The newer browsers will improve the overall user experience for your enterprise. If you are using a lower-level version of Internet Explorer, Factiva will prompt you to update your browser. If you are part of a corporate network, you should contact your company's administrator before changing your browser version. Other Important Changes to Browser Support

Beginning on June 27, 2005, Factiva will support standards-based browsers that support XHTML 1.0.

Support for these browsers in Factiva.com at launch in June 2005 will only include access to the Start Page, Search and Track areas. Additional functionality and product areas, including News Pages and Companies & Markets will be added later in 2005.

Currently, we are recommending the following standards-based browsers:

  • Firefox 1.0.2 and above on Windows 98, 98SE, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, XP (recommended), Server 2003
  • Firefox 1.0.2 and above on Macintosh OS X v. 10.2x+
  • Safari 1.2 and above on Macintosh OS X v. 10.2x+
Important Notes:
  • The recommended browser versions may change as we test more browsers, including Netscape and Opera, and as we add access to additional areas of Factiva.com from standards-based browsers.
  • *Internet Explorer will no longer be supported in any version for Mac users after December 2005.
