I tried to go to ProQuest and I got a screen called Error 1014?

What happened?
The following ProQuest error:"Error 1014" occurred because you were
attempting to access ProQuest though your Athens login and ProQuest did not
recognize your Athens login information.
What does this mean?
If you are a student or library patron, this error should not alarm
you and does not mean you have done anything wrong. This error can occur for a
variety of reasons.
What should I do?
We recommend that you attempt to access
ProQuest via the same method you used before:
- If you did not intend to access ProQuest through the Athens login,
please go to
http://proquest.umi.com/login.
- If you were following a link from a school or institutional web page,
please return to that web page and follow the instructions for accessing
ProQuest using an Athens login id, and attempt to connect again.
- If you were accessing ProQuest through your library web site,
please go to that web site again and follow its instructions for accessing
ProQuest using an Athens login.
If you do not know what any of the above terms mean, you should contact your
library reference desk, your institutional help desk, or your offsite support
services for assistance.
If you believe you have properly configured you computer for access and have
accurate access information from your library and you are still unable to
connect, you may also wish to review the following:
- Check your computer and web browser settings. To ensure you will

If you have received this error multiple times from multiple attempts to
access ProQuest, there may be a larger problem occurring. Please contact your
